New Video Series Highlights WCO CooperVision® Myopia Management Navigator
Four Ambassadors Share How the Interactive and Educational Resource Can Assist Eye Care Professionals Worldwide
A new video series highlights how eye care professionals can use the WCO CooperVision® Myopia Management Navigator, an interactive and educational guide to evidence-based resources for managing myopia. Four World Council of Optometry (WCO) myopia management ambassadors—Nicola Logan, Ashley Wallace Tucker, Jagrut Lallu, and Síofra Harrington—offer practical insights for using the Navigator in clinical settings to guide discussions with patients and families.
The series is available at https://myopia.worldcouncilofoptometry.info/navigator-ambassadors/.
WCO partnered with CooperVision, a global leader in myopia management, to launch the Navigator in April 2024 to further the adoption of myopia management as the standard of care. The free online resource provides a range of content, advice, and practical actions across the three M’s of myopia management: mitigation, measurement, and management.
WCO President Dr. Sandra Block said, “These videos are a powerful way to introduce the WCO CooperVision® Myopia Management Navigator program and our four expert ambassadors to optometrists globally. Each ambassador brings a unique global perspective and extensive background in myopia management. We believe their knowledge and skills will inspire eye care professionals worldwide to continue to adopt myopia management as a standard of care in their practices to address this public health crisis.”
The WCO myopia management standard of care resolution was developed and introduced in April 2021. It includes the three main standard of care pillars of mitigation, measurement, and management. With the global support of CooperVision, WCO has since worked to advance awareness and adoption of this landmark initiative.
