Hundreds of companies and organizations will be converging in Las Vegas to showcase new products and host events about the latest developments in eye care and eyewear. With such a broad array of technology, education, fashion, and healthcare innovation on display, The Vision Council—co-host of Vision Expo—points out five categories to watch, with highlights from its members:

Low Vision

Low vision is a visual impairment resulting in central vision loss, peripheral vision loss, difficulty seeing in low light, and/or blurry vision that makes it difficult for individuals to perform everyday tasks. According to the CDC’s National Health Interview Survey in 2022, 18.4 percent of U.S. adults have difficulty seeing even when wearing glasses or contacts, so advancements in low vision aids and treatments are critical.

  • Eschenbach Optik of America, Inc. (#F12030) will be launching the highly anticipated Optaro, a revolutionary low vision enhancing product, at their press conference on 9/20 at 10 a.m. at their booth.

Dry Eye

Caused by a variety of genetic and environmental factors like aging, use of certain medications, allergies, and increase use of digital devices, dry eye is a condition affecting millions of individuals each day.

  • Amcon Labs (# P14033) will launch the VIVA Dry Eye Solutions line, including VIVA Moist Head Compress, VIVA Hypochlorous Eyelid Cleansing Spray, and the upcoming VIVA Hydrating Eye Drops.

Eyewear

More than 36 million pairs of frames were sold in the first half of 2024, according to The Vision Council’s Market inSights research. The eyewear on display at Vision Expo West sets the tone for the fashion, fit, and style consumers will be wearing in the coming months.

Several companies will show off the latest eyewear fashions including:

  • Match Eyewear (#P17039) with bright, youthful styles
  • TC CHARTON (#A22038) with its 15th anniversary Xandra frame
