Industry Veteran Becomes the First Contact Lens Company Executive to Serve

The Vision Council has elected CooperVision President Jerry Warner to a three-year term on its Board of Directors. The global organization promotes comprehensive growth in the vision care industry through education, advocacy, research, consumer outreach, strategic relationship building, and industry forums.

“The Vision Council is pleased to welcome Jerry as a director at large,” said Ashley Mills, CEO of The Vision Council. “As the first contact lens company representative to have a seat on our Board, Jerry offers valuable perspective and experience following years of active membership and volunteering from the CooperVision team. We are confident that with the support our strong and passionate Board members, we can have a productive and fulfilling year. There is much to look forward to in 2022 and we are excited to lead the industry forward together.”

Prior to his promotion to President of CooperVision, which took effect this month, Warner was the company’s Executive Vice President and President, Americas and Global Commercial Functions. He has also held roles as President of the Americas region and Senior Vice President of Global Marketing for the contact lens leader.

Warner said, “It is an honor to serve in this capacity, advocating for and helping create partnerships across the industry from which everyone benefits—manufacturers, practitioners, retailers, and consumers. The Vision Council is tireless in its efforts to enable better vision for better lives, which mirrors CooperVision’s own purpose to help improve the way people see each day.”

In addition to his new role, Warner is also on the Board of Trustees for the Optometric Center of New York, the affiliated foundation of the SUNY College of Optometry.
