Transitions Optical, Inc. has named the finalists for its Transitions Healthy Sight Awards program, which recognizes leading independent eyecare professionals and retailers in Canada for their commitment to the Transitions® lens brand and promoting healthy sight in their practices and communities.
The three finalists for the fourth annual Transitions Eyecare Professional of the Year award are Diana Monea, O.D., The Eye Health Centres – in Calgary, AB and Regina, SK – West Region; Marie Trudel, Ma Vue – Quebec, East Region; and Rachel Hill-Campbell, Personal Optical – St. Catherine’s – Ontario Region. The finalists for the first-ever Transitions Retailer of the Year award are Loblaw Optical, Lunetterie New Look Eyewear and Walmart Vision Centres.
Nominees were evaluated on their 2012 efforts, including commitment to photochromic growth; alignment to Transitions Optical and participation in programs and promotions; marketing initiatives; education and training efforts; and community involvement. All of the finalists and winners will be recognized during a special awards ceremony, held on Jan. 29 during the 17th annual Transitions Academy at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.
“By investing in education for staff and finding new and innovative ways to identify what their patients and customers need to better see and experience the world around them, all of our finalists have helped to encourage a higher standard in eyecare within Canada over the last year,” said Christine Underhill, business manager, Canada, Transitions Optical. “We look forward to sharing each of our finalists’ stories and successes in the coming months, and to thanking them for their ongoing support at Transitions Academy.”
