The Transitions Optical Vantage Seven-City Tour continues to make its way across Canada.
The tour offers industry professionals the chance to learn about variable polarization and new Transitions® Vantage™ lenses.
Transitions Optical, Inc. kicked off its Transitions Vantage What’s Possible City Tour, in early May at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The tour will also include stops in Vancouver, Toronto, Quebec City and Montreal.
Each educational event, worth one eyeglass credit for opticians and one hour credit for optometric assistants, includes refreshments, light dinner and a presentation on how Transitions Vantage lenses employ a new technology different than current photochromic and polarized lenses.
“We are breaking through what’s possible in lens technology and quite literally making the impossible possible,” said Tim Schmidt, industry relations and education manager, Canada and a presenter at the Winnipeg event. “With variable polarization the lenses not only adapt to changing light by darkening, but also by increasing in polarization. This is new- to-the-world technology that has never been seen before.”
In addition to the newest technology, the events highlight efforts Transitions Optical is putting behind its consumer and partnership programs throughout the year.
“We are evolving to better represent what our products offer consumers, the opportunity to have a richer and more vibrant visual experience,” explained Don Ross, territory manager, Western Canada. “Our consumer campaign is designed to fully surround the consumer, specifically the consumers who are most receptive to our message. We’ll also be continuing programs to support you in your business and patient care goals.”
Tour attendees will participate in demonstration areas where they can view the performance of Transitions Vantage lenses and will be eligible to enter to win a variety of prizes, including trial pairs, gift cards and an iPad. After the last stop on the tour, the presentation will be available on the e-Learning portal at Transitions.com/Learn. Canadian opticians can take the course to earn continuing education credit, made possible through Transitions Optical’s collaboration with the Optician’s Association of Canada
