One year after its European debut, the brand celebrates growing recognition, selective expansion, and a stronger identity
Takaori: Where Artistry Meets Identity. During Paris Eyewear Week, Takaori unveiled two new styles that expand and reinforce the brand’s distinctive aesthetic: Yubi and Seijitsu. One feminine, one masculine—both deeply rooted in the brand’s philosophy of refined minimalism and artisanal precision.
At the heart of both designs lies Takaori’s unwavering dedication to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Every frame is entirely handmade in Japan, shaped, polished, and assembled using techniques passed down through generations.
Yubi. A sculptural interpretation of the cat-eye, Yubi balances bold geometry with architectural fluidity. The upward sweep of the outer corners softens into a curved lower edge, creating a modern take on a timeless silhouette. Clean, faceted edges reflect light like carved amber, while its balanced proportions evoke both confidence and grace. Named after the Japanese word for elegance, Yubi expresses refined beauty and quiet harmony—core values in the Takaori aesthetic.
Seijitsu. A new vision of the classic rectangular frame, Seijitsu stands out for its sculptural tension and subtle complexity. A straight top line meets delicately faceted edges, while the base avoids strict symmetry, introducing a gentle curvature that adds depth and vitality. The result is a frame that feels both grounded and dynamic. The name Seijitsu, meaning sincerity in Japanese, conveys a spirit of integrity and authenticity—qualities that define the model and the brand itself.
With these two new silhouettes, the brand’s signature elements remain intact:
– Sharp-edged surfaces, achieved through a labor-intensive hand-polishing method exclusive to Takaori artisans
– Mono-block titanium hinges, engineered for flawless precision
– A discreet 925 silver family crest, rooted in the heritage of the Samurai and a symbol of identity and pride.
These deliberate, refined touches embody a philosophy in which beauty is born from discipline, and perfection is the result of patience.
2025: A Year of Growth and Identity Consolidation
Since its official European launch in September 2024, Takaori has earned increasing recognition among discerning optical boutiques and collectors. The brand’s approach—focused on exclusivity, authenticity, and craftsmanship—has struck a chord across multiple markets. Following MIDO, Takaori initiated direct representation in France, receiving an enthusiastic welcome from opticians who immediately recognised the brand’s purity and dedication to handmade excellence.
In the spring, a new strategic partnership was signed with a well-established agency in the Netherlands, tasked with overseeing development in both Dutch and German territories. This collaboration was officially presented during BOLD 2025.
“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in this first year,” says Luca Marcellini, Takaori’s European distributor. “The number of collaborations is growing slowly but steadily, in line with our philosophy of controlled, selective distribution. Takaori is not just a brand—it’s a vision. We reject mass production in favour of patience, quality, and purpose. Each piece is the result of hours of manual work, which is why we produce only around 200 units per month. It’s this rarity that gives meaning and strength to what we do.”
With the recent addition of the Netherlands and Germany, Takaori’s European presence now spans Italy, France, Belgium, Portugal and the Baltic Region. This tightly curated network ensures that each frame reaches opticians and clients capable of understanding its real value.
Looking Ahead. September 2025 marked not only the launch of two new models, but also a reaffirmation of Takaori’s founding values. Each new release—including fresh colourways in limited, numbered editions—remains faithful to the collection’s defining identity. Takaori continues to stand apart in the eyewear landscape. It is not guided by trends or volume, but by a deeper commitment: to preserve, through design and execution, the soul of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Each frame is a testament to this mission—a wearable work of art, designed to endure.
