Dr.’s Choice, a small Ontario lab tucked away in cottage country, provides industry-leading service

Dr.’s Choice Optical Lab is a great Canadian success story in the lens-manufacturing game.

The mom-and-pop operation started more than a decade ago in the charming town of Trenton, Ont.

“We are not the ‘big-box store’ optical lab,” says Dr.’s Choice’s Joseph Coward. “We are the small, local business that knows your name and handles every job personally. You are never just an account number at Dr.’s Choice, you are a valued customer.”

Despite the lab’s growing success and rave reviews, it hasn’t lost its penchant for personalization.

Dr.’s Choice uses state-of-the-art technology to create both single-vision and progressives that are optimized for each patient, allowing them to experience the highest quality of vision and superior comfort.

“Each member of our dedicated staff is committed to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of every customer,” says Coward. “Our knowledgeable staff will work with you to ensure your patients get the best vision care possible.”

Dr.’s Choice took time during the pandemic to invest in automation, artificial intelligence and double the size of its coating lab.

Coward says the lab is better equipped than ever to roll out lenses that tackle the most pressing vision issues of today’s modern world.

The pandemic has changed how people spend their time at their jobs, primarily due to increased screen time due to working and learning from home. This has been associated with increased eyestrain among adults and students, which is why we offer our Relaxed® Lens designs, containing a small ADD that can reduce eye strain. As well, to further make working from home easier on the eyes we offer our Clearview® Blue Blocker AR coating which filters harmful blue light radiation from screens.”
