Rodenstock has been a leader in the optical industry for more than 130 years. In that time customers have come to expect high quality premium lenses.
In January of 2015 Plastic Plus Ltd of Toronto took over the distribution of lenses in Canada. The head offices of Rodenstock are located in Germany, but the company has had a presence within Canada for more than 30 years. The partnership with Plastic Plus will not only continue to sustain existing accounts, but also expand the availability of Rodenstock technology within Canada as the company expands market share.

This was the right fit because there was the right technological synergy and they could maintain the high level of manufacturing quality Rodenstock customers expect,” said Rodenstock area sales manager Florian Zwink.
Rodenstock currently has a wide assortment of single vision and free form lenses. With the world’s largest selection in free-form products and individual lens technology including single-vision, hi-tech readers, progressives and high-curved sport lenses. Zwink says it is more than just the products that sets Rodenstock apart in the industry.

“We have a central focus on the customers and offering them customized market solutions,” he said adding the new partnership will allow for continued growth within the industry focusing on the needs of the Canadian market. In addition to lenses, Rodenstock plans to expand WINFIT technology within Canada.
“The Canadian market is growing and appreciates the quality and the German technology that is involved in creating the finest prescription eyewear in the world,” he said.
Eyecare providers who are currently offering or want to offer Rodenstockl enses now have a direct source in Canada. Plastic Plus will offer manufacturer and sales support with sales reps based at the
PP offices.
“Canada has been a global leader in free-form technology since its development,” said Paul Faibish, President of Plastic Plus.
He noted Plastic Plus was the first to manufacturer of free-form lenses in North America and has continued to build the technology within the plant to provide a better quality product.
Faibish said the Rodenstock partnership means Plastic Plus has increased the sales force with additional representation in Canada.
