A great man has left us.

Tony Nader of Insight Optometry was killed Dec. 31 at his place of work in Halifax, N.S.

It is with great sadness that we bear the loss of this great friend and optician.

Tony was the “salt of the earth” who made everyone feel welcomed and special.

He had a gift of engaging his customers and patients with kindness, compassion, care and consideration.

Tony respected all and although I had only met him twice, he left a lasting impression.

In our last email correspondence, just a few weeks ago, Tony wrote, “I always smile” in closing his message and that certainly held true.  He had much to smile about and loved his work, life and circle of family and friends.

Tony leaves behind his beloved wife, Dominique, and two beautiful daughters.

All who knew Tony share the same feelings of tragic loss and many have added their memories on his Facebook page.

It’s hard to believe that he is gone and that the void we feel is one of sadness and shock.

Tony recently recorded his first Nashville hit, “Tailgate Time” and had much to celebrate in his success as a loving husband, father, optician and musician.

Our lives have been touched by an angel and we wish his family, friends and colleagues, peace and prayers, during this very difficult time.
