With great sadness, Zyloware Eyewear announces the death of long-time employee and optician, Frank Albohn. Frank was an integral part of Zyloware’s Quality Assurance team for almost a decade. He died peacefully on October 13th, he was 64.
Starting his optical career in 1974, Frank began in the trade when workingbyhandwithverybasictoolsandtechniques to achieve results was necessary. This experiencemade him a true optical craftsman with invaluable knowledge.
His deep understanding of customer needs and of eyewear dispensing was crucial for developing product that was successful both in form and function. He generously shared his knowledge with Zyloware’s quality assurance and product development teams everyday. A beloved part of the Zyloware family, Frank was awarded Zyloware’s Employee of the Year in 2017.
Frank was an avid sportsman having played baseball, football and softball. He will be remembered at the Zyloware office for many things, including his unmatched sports knowledge.

He loved optical, he was so proud to share his knowledge and Zyloware was truly his second family; many years he chose to come to work, not taking any vacation time. He made us all believe working was his greatest pleasure. We are so grateful for our good fortune to count Frank part of our most valuable legacy: our people. Our hearts go out to his family.”
Frank is survived by his wife Anne and son Frank Albhon III. He will be missed by his Zyloware family and all who knew him.
A memorial gathering service will be help on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4-8pm at Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.
