Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) is pleased to announce that Hoya Vision Care has become a National Partner in Canada.
Hoya has held several successful past fundraising events for OGS’s fall World Sight Day Challenge campaign, and are now increasing their commitment to year-round support.
“I am delighted that Hoya Vision Care Canada is stepping up their support to further help people in underserved communities gain access to the eye health and vision care services they need,” said Anne Marie Hand, OGS’s Executive Director of North America.
“We are proud to partner with Optometry Giving Sight to be a part of the initiatives that help underserved communities,” said Bernard Lecavalier, Interim President of Hoya Vision Care Canada. “It is not by choice that people require vision correction, and if we can help to administer programs and initiatives through our support, then we are headed in the right direction.” Bernard added, “Hoya cares for the well-being of each individual patient alike regardless of demographics. By providing solutions for these less fortunate communities, we are empowering our true visionary partners, eye care professionals, to complete their mission by providing the gift of sight.”
OGS is a North American fundraising initiative that specifically targets preventable blindness and impaired vision worldwide due to uncorrected refractive error (URE) – simply the need for an eye examination and a pair of glasses. OGS funds the development of accessible and sustainable eye and vision care projects in communities where either they do not exist, or they are in need of support. OGS has supported projects around the globe in over 40 countries since the mid-2000s.
