The OOA is excited to announce that registration for your Fall 2015 professional learning events is now open. On Sunday September 27th the OOA will be presenting Ottawa and area opticians with the OOA Professional Learning Ottawa event. This biennial event will provide opticians with 6 accredited hours of learning and 2 self-directed hours. The day will include a mini trade show of popular suppliers offering the latest in products and technology while showing their support of your association and your profession. On Sunday October 18th don’t miss the OOA Specialty Symposium being held at the Mississauga Grand. This year’s Symposium will offer two tracks of learning. Track 1 will include 6 hours of accredited learning featuring internationally acclaimed speaker Dr. Ed August. Track one will also provide one hour of self-directed learning provided by the College of Opticians of Ontario. Track two will be comprised of a morning session of three hours of accredited learning with live fittings of scleral lenses presented by Rikke Djoges, designer of the MSD scleral lens, and Jim Thompson, nationally acclaimed optician and educator. The afternoon session will include other specialty contact lens fittings. The Symposium will also include a “mini” tradeshow. View the latest products and services during coffee and lunch breaks.
As per usual the OOA will presenting these professional learning opportunities at a cost which keeps in mind the OOA’s commitment to providing quality professional learning to all Ontario opticians with the added opportunity to hear about what’s going on in our profession with updates from the leaders of our profession and also by networking with them through the day.
The cost of admission is only $60 for members and $100 for non-members.
