Menicon America has officially launched their Canadian website. Japan’s first and largest contact lens manufacture launched the site in support of their marketing and distribution of Solocare Aqua solutions in Canada which hit the market on May 1.
The site will offer product information, a resource video library and other content for eye care practitioners and consumers in both English and French.
Menicon acquired the distribution rights to Solocare Aqua in Canada and the European Economic Area from Eye-Shelter SA.
“This new website was designed to help make the transition of Solocare Aqua to Menicon America an easy and streamlined experience,” said David Moreira, Vice President of Marketing for Menicon America. “In addition to providing a showcase of Menicon’s extensive portfolio of products, the website will become an information hub that serves eye care practitioners, their patients, and our strategic partners.”
In North America, Menicon America is best known for the hyper-Dk (Menicon Z) gas permeable material and Rose K, the most frequently prescribed lenses for Keratoconus in the world. In 2010, the company expanded its range of innovative custom contact lens materials to address a wide range of specialty vision correction needs and became the exclusive North American distributor of CAPTIV8 – innovative, state-of-the-art animation-driven patient education and marketing software.
Recently, Menicon introduced the world’s thinnest daily disposable contact lens flat pack. Created with Menicon’s proprietary technology, this novel product measures an astonishing 12.5% of the thickness of a conventional pack used to store contact lenses. As the world’s flattest and most compact lens pack, this technology offers unprecedented convenience for storage and carrying in a pocket, purse or even wallet.
