When it comes to men’s taste in colour for their frames, it will be a mix of something old and something new this fall.

“For men, blue continues to trend as do varying tones of grey. Brown tones will also see a resurgence as natural earth tones were a focus in this season’s fashion trends,” says Beverly Suliteanu, WestGroupe’s vice-president of product development and creative director.

From WestGroupe’s KLiiK collection, the K-676 is a bold yet refined translucent frame that comes in crystal, navy grey and sand crystal.

Sultineau believes the shape game hasn’t changed much from last year.

“For men, shapes have remained consistent with rectangular, square and round being the most popular,” she says.

The Evatik E-9211 is a stainless steel rectangular frame. It’s a light and classic look available in black cobalt, navy silver and forest black.

PAINT IT (MATTE) BLACK

“Matte colours, especially matte black for men, are going to dominate through the fall,” predicts Eric Blanchette, EVP, Safilo North America.

Men can take advantage of this trend by picking up the new Boss 1191/S shades from Hugo Boss. These sunglasses feature a square shape with a double bridge and are available in gold/khaki with grey-shaded lenses, blue/gold with blue lenses, matte black/ruthenium with grey lenses, ruthenium/matte black with azure-shaded lenses and black/gold with brown lenses.

The guys can also get in the yellow gold game this fall by going with Levi’s specs.

The LV 1009 sports a geometric optical frame in stainless steel with injected temple-tips available in gold with black temple tips and ruthenium with blue temple tips.

CLASSIC LOOKS

No matter the season, protection from the sun never goes out of style.

Maui Jim’s Naneas are rimless, polarized sunglasses. The lightweight metal frames just ooze all kinds of cool and come in gloss black, gunmetal, matte silver and matte black.

Bigger is always better when it comes to sunglasses, according to Maui Jim’s managing director Jeff Speiran.

“The trend of super long/wide and skinny sunglasses needs to go and stay away. This is mainly due to the fact that the coverage they provide for eyes is minimal. Fashion is important, but it shouldn’t be done at the sacrifice of eye health.”

For men’s eyeglasses, it’s all about refined minimalism that starts with practical and fashionable stainless steel construction suggesting sophistication and elegance.

Maui Jim’s Metal collection of six new frames will satisfy all your eyeglasses needs with MJO2128, MJO2129, MJO2130, MJO2131, MJO2132, and MJO2133 available in four universally-appealing colours including satin grey, satin black, matte dark gunmetal and matte brown.

MEDITERANIAN FLARE

Get a taste of the life under the Tuscan sun with Marchon and these hot aviator frames from Salvatore Ferrigamo.

The SF226 will turn heads with vintage colour options, including gold and black.

Adjustable nose pads will ensure you always have that ultra-comfortable fit.

For eyeglasses, you’ll look like a model in Milan with the SF2869 eyeglasses. The bold, thick acetate frames with integrated nose pads come in classic colours that never go out of style including black, tortoise and crystal blue.

BE NOTICED

Have a lot of fun and look really smart doing it. That’s what Etnia Barcelona is offering with its new line for fall.

That includes the Arata, a thick rectangular frame constructed from translucent acetate and available in several colours that range from intense to classic.

Another standout option is the Wigwam. The unique frame shape will get you noticed and it’s exclusively available in green/black.
