When it comes to the term 3D eyewear, there are a few things that can come to mind.
One is the relatively new technology that allows companies to create customizable, one-of-a-kind frames using state-of-the-art 3D printers.

This type of eyewear is featured in this issue of EyeFocus magazine as well.
But another thing that might come to mind is eyewear with features that “pop.”

This can be achieved through interesting design elements, cool graphics and the creative use of shadows and colour.

“3D effects” on frames can truly make eyewear stand out, generate interest and turn regular frames into a showpiece on someone’s face.

The Polaroid PLD 6084/S by Safilo are definitely the type of shades that stand out.
These diminutive cat-eye women’s sunglasses feature low-relief graphic lines on the fronts that enhance strong colour contrasts and truly make this style pop.
This model, part of Polaroid’s Heritage Capsule Collection for spring/summer 2019, is available in ivory/black with green polarized lenses, pink/burgundy with pink polarized lenses and black/ivory with grey polarized lenses.
All sunglasses in the collection boast polarized lenses for perfect glare-free vision, enhanced contrast, reduced eye fatigue and 100 per cent UV protection.

The FYSH F-3623 by WestGroupe, which is also new for 2019, is made with layers of handmade crystal acetate that are laminated with a stylized metallic brow bar in contrasting colour. The result is an eye-catching 3D look and feel.
The end pieces are carved to mirror the triple metal curves laminated into the acetate, while matching metallic temples make for a polished and elegant finish.
These frames are available in blush/rose gold, grey/gun, crystal/gold and nude/gold.

The unconventional Kaos KK440 by Area 98 are round frames with a keyhole bridge that feature various elements that create a unique 3D effect.
They include the innovative patterns on the fronts and the two-tone seam effects on the temples.
KAOS is an Area 98 brand that is dedicated to creativity and transgression, conceived for those who are young, cosmopolitan, always on the move and who love to experience strong emotions.

The Coralie by Ogi Eyewear’s cosmopolitan brand Bon Vivant is a frame that turns heads with its 3D-look texture.
This style’s faceted acetate and shimmering materials add body to a graceful look.
The Coralie is available in crystalline black, moonstone, rose dust or shimmering champagne.

Frames in OKIA’s Gold Embroidery HDA collection feature gold threads inside temple acetate, which, when combined with 3D blocks, produce surprising three-dimensional effects.
The sparkling gold threads light up the 3D blocks – extraordinary blends of high-definition colours and solid materials – creating interesting contrasts that give a unique luxurious look to the frames.
The new Gold Embroidery collection comes with fronts in light solid colours and fashionable shapes.
