Retro-inspired styles, eye-catching hues and bold looks are all expected to trend when it comes to eyewear for women this fall.

Beverly Suliteanu, WestGroupe’s vice-president of product development and creative director, says it’s time to get interesting, colourful and retro.

“Women of all ages are gravitating towards interesting shapes,” she says. “The hexagon and the ‘70s slightly oversized square have been particularly popular as well as the more angular cat-eye shapes.”

Fysh F-3655 is a perfect fit for this trendy forecast with options of elegant gold or silver that can be paired with a number of eye-catching colours, including plum, gold, seafoam and lilac.

Sultineau says she also expects to see more colour, patterns and fun with acetate.

“With everyone wearing masks, we need eyewear to pop so that we can focus on people’s eyes and their glasses.”

KLiiK K-677 checks all those boxes. This fun and carefree look isn’t afraid to be adventurous with steel blue, mahogany merlot and blush rose gold options guaranteed to get compliments.

Fight the pandemic blues with something fresh, beautiful and fun from Plan “B” Eyewear’s Glacée collection.

“This ladies line is made to hit all the right notes of fashion and trend, offering an edge of its own while remaining wearable and prescription-friendly,” says Cassandra Slepian, director of sales and marketing at Alternative/Plan “B” Eyewear.

“Overdramatic cat eyes like the GL6950 offer a hint of sparkle and retro fun, while drop-temples continue their return to glory as seen on the stunning GL6951.”

The six new models showcase colour in the most beautiful of ways, balancing matte and shiny paint applications to create a frame that catches the eye from all angles.

“Oversized frames are expected to continue to sell well across price points for both genders as well as ‘60s-inspired shapes,” says Eric Blanchette, EVP, Safilo North America.

So step back in time and put on the very regal Madeira frames from Kate Spade New York. The cat-eye shape is complemented by the transparent acetate front and slender stainless-steel temples.

According to Blanchette, rose gold continues to top many wish lists.

“Additionally, blush-coloured frames for women and clear ones for men are building momentum due to influencers sporting these looks on social media.”

Another luxurious look that will always impress on social media is the Marc 507 by Marc Jacobs. This refined square shape for women in metal with slim temples is offered both in classic colours with acetate sheath on the rims for a playful touch.

If you’re aiming for a truly unforgettable look, set your sights on Etnia Barcelona’s stunning new collection of prescription specs.

The FRIDA and CLARA are two smart but playful-looking frames available in as many as eight hypnotizing patterns and colour combinations.

For Edu Pitarch, Etnia’s creative director, finding the perfect hues and opacities can make or break your collection.

“Vibrant, translucent colours with tones from the Havana colour palette and mono-color laminations, with unexpected combinations.”
