It has been a very busy few months in the eye industry.
Companies across the globe are launching their fall and spring product lines and the shelves will
soon be full of innovative designs and amazing colours.
This past month, industry insiders were able to get a sneak peek during Silmo, in Paris, France.
This much anticipated event was an opportunity for eyecare professionals to see what is in store and how they can be on the top of the latest trends.
As the year winds down we can look back on 2012 and see tremendous progress in eyewear and eye care.
This issue contains several articles looking at the strides being made in medical research.
It also offers a glimpse at some of the new luxury brands which will be hitting stores over the next few
months. You will see styles that not only make the wearer look and feel good, but also pay exceptional
attention to detail, the environment and the available technology.
Eyewear isn’t simply about helping people see—it is about the attitude, the soul and the personality of the wearer and these new designs carefully reflect all three of these important elements.
We are also very proud to share with our readers the story of news legend Craig Oliver, who has been
fighting a near lifelong battle with glaucoma.
This trusted name in news has used technology and his own determination to keep up with the often exceedingly demanding news industry to continue to bring viewers the latest on Canadian politics and foreign affairs.
This story is not only a lesson on how to fight and win against glaucoma, but also an inspiration to
those who are facing first diagnosis and the fear often associated with the disease.
As always please take the time to connect with us. We enjoy hearing from you via Facebook, Twitter and
email. We also invite you to check out our website where you will find new videos from across the industry.
We will be capturing style, design, technology and more and we invite you to be a part of the story.
We look forward to seeing what the rest of 2012 has to offer and look forward to an exciting new year!
