New York, April 2, 2015 – On Monday night, the twin Canadian designers, founders and owners of Dsquared2, Dean and Dan Caten, welcomed the who’s who of the Big Apple at their first New York boutique located in Soho at 402 West Broadway for an exclusive cocktail followed by a private dinner at Indochine.

Upon entering the two-level flagship store you’re greeted almost instantly by a wall fixture of sunglasses in vibrant colors and shapes from the latest Dsquared2 Eyewear collection by Marcolin. Included in the showcase was the new Lollo style (DQ0166), a perfect combination of retro hints and contemporary allure which celebrates the brand’s signature aesthetics with a markedly feminine model. Innovative volumes create a modern architectural shape embodied in a metal cat-eye silhouette. A camouflage motif jazzes up the temples in the unisex Preston model (DQ0171), another highlighted style. The front of these square shaped frames is made of clear acetate offered in a range of pastel colors. Its geometric shape, unique color combinations and innovative mix of materials emphasize the modern personality of this model, in pure Dsquared2 style.

The 6,467-square foot flagship store provided the opportunity to browse through the new arrivals of apparel and accessories and try on the perfect shades, including the Frances style, a pair of oversized sunnies that Mary J. Blige spotted and couldn’t resist. In Frances (DQ0189), thick profiles are the key feature of this unexpected women’s frame exuding feminine charm. Concealed behind mirror lenses and a large, square acetate shape, the eyes take on an irresistibly mysterious allure.

Guests included music artists Mary J. Blige and Laura Love, some of today’s top fashion models Chanel Iman, Tyson Beckford, Inga Kozel, Fei Fei Sun, Rianne Ten Haken, Cory Bond, Miguel Iglesias, Daphne Groeneveld, Mina Cvetkovic, and Irina Shayk, stylist and editor Jackie Astier, entrepreneur Lorenzo Martone, and Stefano Tonchi, Editor-in-Chief of W.
