There is still time to nominate the next Transitions Eyecare Professional of the Year and Transitions Retailer of the Year, by entering in the 2013 Transitions Awards program. Just for being nominated, offices will receive 2,000 points to be applied toward the Transitions Rewards Program. Through the awards, Transitions Optical, Inc. honours industry partners, including independent eyecare professionals and retailers, who actively support the Transitions® brand and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the vision of their customers and communities. All nominations are due by November 1, 2013.

Eyecare professionals may be self-nominated, or nominated by a laboratory or lens manufacturer representative through an online nomination form, which can be found on the awards website (TransitionsAwards.com). Retailers should apply through self-nomination through their respective online nomination form on TransitionsAwards.com as well. Nominees can save their progress as they fill out the form and return to it at a later date.

Eligibility for the 2013 Transitions Awards:
To be considered for the Transitions Eyecare Professional of the Year Award, eyecare professionals must be part of an independent practice with no more than 10 locations and have at least a 20 percent share of Transitions lenses. Canadian retailers with 10 or more locations that have a partnership agreement with Transitions Optical are eligible for the Transitions Retailer of the Year awards program.

Nominees will be evaluated on their 2013 efforts, including commitment to photochromic growth; alignment to Transitions Optical and participation in programs and promotions; marketing initiatives; community involvement; and education and training efforts.

Recognition and Prizes for Finalists and Winners:
All retailer finalists will receive a trip for two to attend the 2014 Transitions Academy, in Orlando, Fla., where the winner will be announced. Each eyecare professional finalist representing the three regions in Canada (West, Ontario and East) will also receive this trip, as well as a plaque and banner for their office.

Additional prizes for all award winners include staff rewards, permission to use the award logo on internal and external communications and professional marketing/public relations support. The Eyecare Professional of the Year will also receive support for continuing his or her healthy sight efforts in 2014 with a $1,000 grant through the Transitions Healthy Sight for LifeTM Fund. The Eyecare Professional of the Year will additionally win two pairs of Transitions lenses of their choice, and a grand-prize trip for two to the Transitions Optical headquarters in Tampa, Fla., for a comprehensive plant tour.

If a laboratory or manufacturer representative’s nominee for the Eyecare Professional of the Year Award is selected as a finalist, he or she will also receive a trip to Transitions Academy 2014.
