Centennial Optical Limited and Rx Centre Optical Laboratory have concluded an agreement for Centennial to purchase and continue the operation of Rx Centre as an independent wholesale laboratory. This purchase agreement reinforces Centennial’s commitment to supporting a strong network of independent laboratories in Canada, in order to provide quality products and service to local eye care professionals.

In a phone interview with Optical Prism, Director, Marketing & Communications (Lens Division) stated that clients will not see any change in operations in the interim.

“There will be no change in day-to-day business,” he said.

Rx Centre provides a full range of products from major lens manufacturers, including Nikon, Zeiss, Shamir, Kodak, SOLA and Younger lens brands. The lab will continue to operate as a full-service, wholesale laboratory with no changes planned for the current management, technical and customer service personnel that its customers have come to depend on for exceptional quality, service and advice. Providing the technology, products and service to best meet its customers’ needs will always be Rx Centre’s first priority and the lab will continue to be free to supply a full range of products from different manufacturers without bias.

“Rx Centre will be a subsidiary owned by Centennial. Our customers will get the same personal service, quality and pricing,” said LeRoux.

Centennial Optical is an independent, Canadian-owned distributor of ophthalmic frames, lenses, contact lenses, sunglasses, optical coatings, lab supplies and accessories. This acquisition represents a step forward in building a larger, independent network of wholesale suppliers that Canadian eye care professionals can depend on.
