Adlens, the global leader in adjustable focus eyewear, is pleased to announce that AdlensFocuss was named the winner of a Gold Stevie Award in the ‘Best New Product or Service of the Year – Consumer Products’ category at the 12th annual International Business Awards.

AdlensFocuss, the company’s first adjustable prescription eyewear, was awarded gold after a judging process that lasted more than two months. The product received consistently high average scores with feedback from the judges including:

– “The score is 10. I am one of those who struggle with their glasses, so I know exactly how this innovative product can changes the lives of many people;”

– “Good vision innovation with growth potential;”

– “A simple and so much needed solution;” and

– “AdlensFocuss is a significantly innovative product.”

Heralded as the most significant leap in lens technology for over 50 years, AdlensFocuss feature Variable Power Optics – a unique technology inspired by the eye’s natural flexibility to focus instantly on different distances. It is composed of a static prescription lens for distance and a second lens which can change shape to adjust the focus with dynamic precision. The power of the lens is controlled through a discreet dial inside a fashionable handmade frame.

Dr. Rob Stevens, chief technology officer at Adlens, said: “We are honoured to be recognised with a Gold Stevie Award and it validates Adlens belief that Variable Power Optics has the ability to revolutionise the optical market – and the way people see – forever.

“This award is also a testament to the hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm that everyone contributes at Adlens. We see endless possibilities for variable focus technology and are proud to be evolving the eyewear industry.”

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2015 IBAs received entries from more than 60 nations and territories.

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from May through early August.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala awards banquet at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto Oct. 23.
