The first license agreement was set up between adidas and Silhouette International some 22 years ago and it has now been extended for a further five years for the sub-brand ‘Performance’ – until the end of 2019. The Austrian specialist in premium eyewear – still family-owned – will continue to set standards in sports eyewear under the adidas brand. The eyewear is currently produced at the company’s sites in Linz /Austria and Trhové Sviny / Czech Republic.
Thanks to its intensive research work, knowledge and expertise going back decades and the desire to seek new solutions time and time again, Silhouette International has succeeded in establishing adidas as a leading brand in sports eyewear. Design, materials, but above all unique technical solutions for highly-functional sports eyewear were crucial for this success.
“We invest in our licensed brand and in the company we deliberately focus on only two brands to deliver top performance – Silhouette and adidas. In our future collaboration with adidas, we will therefore be focussing exclusively on the “Performance” segment and will no longer continue to offer the adidas Originals range,” confirms Daniel Rogger, CEO of Silhouette International.
