Silhouette

What started as the founding vision of Anneliese and Arnold Schmied in 1964 – glasses as an accessory – is now the leading global name in premium eyewear: Silhouette International. The Austrian, family-owned company sets new standards in terms of innovation, quality and design, with it’s own brands Silhouette and neubau eyewear and with the licensed brand adidas Sport eyewear. In 1999 Silhouette revolutionised the world of eyewear with the introduction of Titan Minimal Art. Weighing only 1.8 grams, there are no frames, screws or hinges. Silhouette turns over approximately 150 million euros a year, generated in more than 100 countries, with exports lying at 95%. Silhouette International is still owned 100% by the Schmied family.
