As one of the largest optical distributors in Canada, Centennial Optical’s product offerings include several designer and house brand ophthalmic frame lines, a multitude of lens and contact lens products, sunglass brands Serengeti and Bollé, as well as various optical supplies and accessories. Centennial has just launched a new website, at www.centennialoptical.com, providing their accounts with expanded online product availability, advanced search capabilities and a better online ordering experience overall.
A Centennial account is required to register as a new user and is then able to log in and access online ordering. Once logged in, users have the option to search by product, including eyewear (frames), lenses, contact lenses, sunglasses and supplies/accessories. They also have the option to choose rapid ordering by frame name or barcode, or go directly to “favourites” that they have saved previously.
Advanced Search allows users to quickly pinpoint available options by identifying the key filters to best meet their requirements. The user chooses the relevant parameters and the advanced search quickly delivers available options. Users can then view images of each frame or sunglass model, or availability charts for each lens and contact lens product. Users can also do a quick search by entering any product details in the search bar.
In the Shopping Cart, users can view orders by product or sort by patient or tray number, and can see their pricing by item, subtotal and total. A colour key will appear beside each item to confirm availability. There are several new options for customizing account and user information, as well as the ability to save relevant files, forms and favourites. Users can also search their account web order history to check on orders in progress
and avoid duplication when placing new orders.
Centennial developed the new site with Jobson Interactive and has been testing it with customers throughout the summer. Comments received from users of the new site include: “I really like the look and feel of the newdesign”, and “Very improved and much more efficient”.
