BOLD, CLEAN LINES AND VINTAGE-INSPIRED FRAMES.

THERE IS A LOT ON TAP FOR STYLE AND TRENDS IN WOMEN’S FRAMES AND SUNGLASSES FOR 2017.

THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE, WHETHER YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SPORTY SPECS OR WANTING SOMETHING MORE FASHION FORWARD.

HERE IS A LOOK AT SOME OF THE HOT LOOKS FOR THE NEW YEAR.

NEUBAU

Neubau, which is distributed in Canada by the Canadian Optical Supply Co., recently launched its first sunglasses collection for both men and women along with a trio of new prescription frames.

The shades, in models Andy, Tim, Diana, Heinz and James, were “inspired by contemporary art, fashion and music.”

Neubau says each of the models has an exceptionally high-quality finish and boast a super-comfortable wear, which makes them ideal for everyday use.

The frames were each coloured by hand, making each piece one-of-a-kind.

MARCOLIN

Animal prints and metallics are all the rage with the new Guess spring/summer collection from Marcolin Eyewear.

Animal prints that have been applied using innovative technologies can be seen in the optical frame GU2584, which features a rectangular front and metal temples.

Model GU2587 comes in a rectangular front enhanced by an exclusive two-tone matte finish and features acetate temple tips with metallic – silver, gold or rose gold – temples.

The new Marciano eyewear collection offers trendy and contemporary optical frames and sunglasses with a glamorous feminine accent. The new eyecatching silhouettes are designed for the sophisticated woman who is fashion-forward and seeks out the most sought-after accessories of the season. The new styles offer a wide range of colors, where the more classic brown, black and blue are paired with more sophisticated shades such as khaki and peach or with animal prints.

SAFILO

There are a number of trends coming from the Safilo Group. The lens shape trends include oval and oversized soft square. Gold metal is a top choice for frames, which is featured in model Emilyann of the Kate Spade collection.

Céline’s ‘shape in shape’ interpretation is a great novelty in the spring/summer

2017 collection. The iconic bold look of the brand has been interpreted in an impactful bi-layer construction. The intense craftsmanship is visible in the innovative architecture of the frame, featuring a structural shape visible in transparency (4mm) with ultrathin (2mm) outline shape with a super bold impact. A throwback is the style concept of Tommy Hilfiger “Summer of Love” campaign

that features full-colour fronts in contrast with temples in striped acetate. The ultra-feminine oversized cat-eye shape gives a retro flavour to the style and the love patch logo on the right temple provides a playful touch.

COSTA

Costa, which is distributed in Canada by Centennial Optical, has launched a pair of lightweight, versatile sunglasses for women.

Costa

Walking the line between fashion and sport, we created the Kare and Riverton designs that hit the sweet spot,” says Terri Ossi Hannah, Costa’s senior marketing manager.

Providing women with an ‘Athleisure’ sunglass, which looks great in a myriad of scenarios; whether a morning jog on the beach, a day on the boat or sitting at a restaurant on the pier watching the sunset.”

The Italian-made frames boast all of the Costa performance features without looking masculine, heavy handed or chunky.

Offered in trendy colours like sand crystal, kiwi tortoise and shiny black kiwi, “these styles demonstrate Costa’s commitment to address our female consumers with performance sunglass frames that equal our performance lens story,” says Ossi Hannah.
