Transitions Optical is officially kicking off its Great Canadian Sights Tour, and will hit the road to educate thousands of consumers about their eye health and the ability to see life’s everyday moments through a series of events at the Top Five Sights to See in Canada.

Through Transitions Optical’s Official Sponsor of Sightseeing (OSS) campaign, Canadians were encouraged to visit www.seemoresights.ca in March and April to vote for their favourite sights, with the top five to be featured as stops in the Great Canadian Sights Tour.

The results are in, and the Top Five Sights to See in Canadian are (in order of voting results):

  1. Canadian Rockies, AB
  2. Niagara Falls, ON
  3. Old Quebec City, QC
  4. Pacific Rim National Park, BC
  5. Peggy’s Cove, NS

The Great Canadian Sights Tour will kick off at the Manulife Dragon Boat Festival in Nova Scotia (Dartmouth) on Saturday, July 14. The tour will continue across the country making stops at the Quebec City Summer Festival on Sunday, July 15; Victoria International Buskers Festival on Wednesday, July 25 and the St. Catherine’s Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, July 28.

The event to celebrate the sight of the Canadian Rockies is still to be announced.

Each of the stops will feature appearances by Transitions Optical’s OSS campaign ambassadors Andi Petrillo, a renowned Canadian hockey broadcaster; and Melanie Turgeon, a former Olympian and world champion skier.

Attendees will be encouraged to celebrate their sight by taking photos against a background featuring the local winning sight, speaking with an eyecare professional about their eye health and how to enhance their vision, and viewing demonstrations of Transitions Optical’s family of products.

Attendees at each stop can also enter to win a camera so they can capture the sights that are special in their lives.

Throughout the tour, consumers and eyecare professionals can visit www.seemoresights.ca to enter the Sight of the Day Photo Contest for a chance to win various sightseeing prizes, including the Ultimate Sightseeing Dream Vacation.

A counter card is available to help eyecare professionals promote the OSS program and photo contest to their patients, and can be ordered by visiting www.transitions.com/TORP or contacting Transitions Optical Customer Service at 1-877-254-2590 or customerservicecanada@transitions.com.
